Maile began singing at five years old, and sang in school choirs from fourth-twelvth grade. Since the age of fourteen she has been singing in, and/or leading worship music for local churches. She took up the guitar and song writing at sixteen, and was performing her original acoustic alternative folk/rock songs by eighteen. At twenty-five she began composing digitally. She also enjoys playing the ukulele, recorder, Irish whistle, djembe, and various percussion instruments.
She is currently producing music with her husband Sam in an alternative electronic-pop duo, Ursi. They have been playing music together in some form since early 2000. Both are vocalists, guitarists, lyricists, and compose digitally. Their music reflects their love for New Wave music from the 80’s, catchy pop, and melancholy epic compositions, and fuses the best of the past with the best of the future in a genre they like to call Bumberpop-“music to dance in the rain to.”
