Maile’s musical journey began in childhood. When she was five years old, she would accompany her parents on tambourine as they played their own songs, and her father would teach her ukulele chords. She sang in school choirs from fourth-twelfth grade. Since the age of fourteen she has been leading worship music for local churches. She took up the guitar and began songwriting at sixteen, performing her original acoustic alternative folk/rock songs as a solo artist and, later, with a backing band. In 1999, she took up the drums and met her husband Sam. They have been collaborating musically ever since and are slowly working towards recording their backlog of alternative electronic pop songs.
